Forging Industry Roadmap:
Progress through Partnerships
May 5, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Purpose:

The purpose of this session is to review the ongoing Forging Industry Roadmap and assess progress, opportunities, and issues. This session will allow current participants and stakeholders to see the "topography" of projects, realign current and future research objectives, and preview the challenges for implementation of the next phase of roadmap project initiatives. A collaboration of manufacturing, engineering, research, tooling, and academia has been assembled to sustain the forging initiative to allow for cross-cutting technologies and broad industrial participation throughout the manufacturing community. The next series of projects will be identified and endorsed as the enabler for the 1998-99 R&D agenda.

Who Should Attend:

Forging industry executives, directors of engineering and manufacturing, manufacturing engineering resources and production managers, machine tool builders, and die and tooling resources should consider attending this cross-cutting industry roadmap review. The current Forging Industry has developed a comprehensive roadmap and is in the process of executing projects and programs whose intent is the completion of the roadmap objectives.
