Tether Free Delivery of Electronic Data in Maintenance Applications

The Integrated – Point of Maintenance Execution (I_POMX) project will place a wireless tablet PC in the hands of the technicians at the point of maintenance that will look, and act like, the current manual paperwork. Unlike the current manual system this device will seamlessly interface with the existing Tinker infrastructure to capture and review repair and overhaul information about a weapon system, order/receive/assign parts on the aircraft line, and get on-site access to technical data. The maintenance process today is data/search intensive, requires manual entry of duplicate information, and cannot be done at work locations.

The deep and experienced team (UGS PLM solutions, Acer, Intel, MRI, Anautics, and Leszynski Group) will create a tablet interface that looks and behaves like the current paper forms but is integrated with the IT support infrastructure for electronic access to work instructions, drawings, and so forth. The team will map current business processes and adapt them to this new system.

This workshop comprises presentations by project participants and a live demonstration of the system. The detailed agenda is not yet developed.
